WALLPAPER
-
Luxury non-woven wall coverings are a manufactured sheet of directionally or randomly orientated fibres, bonded together by chemical or other means. These fibres may be manmade or natural in origin, but for clarity are natural from FSC approved supply.
-
Higher strength
Better tear resistance, particularly when wet.
Are easier to cut, particularly when wet.
Deliver no seam separation on the wall.
Are easier to install and remove from the wall.
Much easier than paper – paste the wall not the paper.
Non-woven wall coverings have a thicker feel than paper and appear more textile-like in appearance.

The inks are HP water based, environmentally kind inks. Our Latex ink is durable and colour fast.
HP latex inks are free from Cadmium, Chromium, Mercury, Lead (tested to >0.2ppm) or Formaldehyde.
The HP water based environmentally kind inks offer durability to withstand “wear and tear” from the different sources of potential damage to which our luxury wallpapers may be exposed.

We advise that a professional be used when hanging non-woven wallpaper. The instructions can be found below:
Preparation
Walls should be dry, clean, and even.
Remove any old wallpaper and loose paint.
Roughen painted surfaces with sandpaper.
For best results, walls should be cross lined using a good quality lining paper. Sizing the lining paper will aid adhesion. Lining should be allowed to dry out completely before hanging the wall covering.
-
A good quality, solvent free, fungicide protected ready-mixed ‘tub’ adhesive – specifically for paste the wall non-woven papers should be used.
-
This is a paste the wall product. The decorator should paste the wall and not the back of the wall covering.
Paste should be evenly applied to the wall to hang one length at a time, to an area slightly wider than width of the paper.
Butt joints and use a decorator’s brush to smooth down the wall covering, working from the centre to the edges to express air bubbles.
Avoid squeezing paste out of the joints and ensure paste does not get onto the brush or roller.
No paste should be allowed to come into contact with the surface and hands should be kept clean and dry whilst hanging the wall covering.
Paste will damage the surface. The company cannot accept responsibility for marks or damage caused by paste.
Should any paste have been allowed to come into contact with the surface, it should be lightly sponged whilst still moist, using a clean damp sponge.
Wide width wallpapers, grasscloth and textile wall coverings are supplied untrimmed with a 10mm overlap to each edge for double cut on installation. The selvedge edge should be removed with scissors prior to hanging to allow pattern matching. The overlap should be cut through (both drops) with a sharp blade and metal edge at a slight angle (mitre) – use a new blade for each drop as a dull blade will tear the wallpaper. Remove both trimming strips and brush flat (allowing for the angle of the cut) for a perfect join.

Light-fade resistance, sometimes referred to as lightfastness, is a measure of how well a print resists fading with exposure to light and other environmental factors such as ozone. The colour of an ink comes from its dyes or pigments, and over time these particles will be broken down by UV rays in sunlight, resulting in colours that fade. Prints produced with inks that contain pigments, such as HP Latex Inks, tend to last a lot longer than prints produced with inks that contain dyes only.
-
Scratch resistance and abrasion resistance refer to the ability of a print to resist damage from different objects with which it comes into contact. Scratch damage refers specifically to damage from sharp or pointed objects—fingernails, for example. Abrasion (also called dry rub) refers to damage caused by repeated rubbing in the same location. HP inks have an anti-scratch agent in which provides a high level of scratch resistance on smooth, coated wallcoverings.

HP Latex Inks have qualified for certifications that demonstrate they meet some of the world's most rigorous and comprehensive standards for low chemical emissions into indoor air. Meet stringent health and environmental criteria—HP Latex Inks are UL ECOLOGO® certified5, conform to ZDHC Manufacturing Restricted Substances List6, and comply with toy safety requirements.
